Before & After

Samantha Remsik
Hometown: Sun Prairie
Age: 30
Occupation: Costumer Service Coach
I was born and raised in Madison, and I love the area. Amazingly, I’m single. I have fun and live with the philosophy that anything can be fun if it’s with the right person. It’s time for a change. I recognized that I wanted more out of life. I love competition so why not do it this way. My personal goal is to learn how to eat better, make better decisions and learn how to exercise effectively.

Before & After

Richard Kast
Hometown: Madison
Age: 42
Occupation: Unemployed Construction Foreman
I was born and raised in Madison. I went in the military right out of high school and got in the best shape of my life. I went to college at MATC and three years ago, I got married to the love of my life. Approximately, two years ago I got laid off from my construction job and have been unemployed. Since that layoff put me in a deep depression, I really started gaining a lot of weight and losing motivation. I would really like to lose weight and gain my self confidence and motivation back so I can get gainful employment and start a family with the love of my life, my wife, Robin Kast, the one who encouraged me to sign up. My wife and I eventually want to start a family and in my current condition, I don’t feel like I can. Since I got laid off from my job and progressively gained weight, I have lost motivation and have become more depressed. So I would like to gain a healthy lifestyle for the rest of my life and for me, my family and my wife. I want to lose 40 to 60 pounds initially. Eventually, I would like to lose 80 to 100 pounds and have a healthy lifestyle for the rest of my life, more motivation, more energy and less of me!!!

Aretha Pearson
Hometown: Madison (originally from Milwaukee)
Age: 32
Occupation: Equal Rights Investigator for the State
I’m very active in my church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, especially with our youth ministry. I also serve on the NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Board and have participated in the annual walk for the past four years. I want to be healthy. My grandmother, mother and even great-grandmother all suffer from diabetes and high blood pressure. I thank God that I don’t, but I want to keep it that way. I participate with a lot of youth at my church, Mt. Zion. In addition to keeping up with them physically, I want to set a good example for them about health. I want to lose at least 30 pounds and be healthy.

Before & After

Erik Ringquist
Hometown: Madison
Age: 32
Occupation: Store Manager of Lids at West Towne Mall
I was born in Beloit and grew up on the east side of Madison. I went to Madison La Follette High School. I love to go to Badger, Packer and Brewer games. I enjoy playing soccer, softball and volleyball. My favorite “hot spots” in Madison are Midtown Pub and Old Chicago. I want to better my health so I can live life to the fullest. I hurt my back last year and the only way to get rid of the pain is to lose weight. Also, my friend said, “You’re fat. You should sign up.” I would like to be able to lose enough weight and increase my cardiovascular fitness to be able to play soccer again at a high level. I would also like to inspire my friends and family to take control of their health and fitness.

Occupation: Owner/Instructor at Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping
After three kids, I found myself at a very unhappy place in life with my weight and health. I made the change and did something about it. After my success, I felt it was my duty to pay it forward. Farrell's changed my life. It changed my family’s life....and I know it can change yours. Find your Level 10. I became interested in personal fitness because people need help. Our society is struggling with a very real (dangerous) epidemic of obesity. I have always enjoyed helping people, and I am very passionate about changing the way people look at their nutrition and fitness level. Everyone deserves to be healthy! I’m not sure I can pick just one success story. Justin and I have personally helped thousands of people through our program. Every person that is able to make the positive, permanent changes that Farrell's program embodies, is a success story to me! We did have a gentleman be removed from the heart transplant list because his overall health had improved so much during his FXB journey....that was pretty cool. My goal for my team is for each of them to succeed. Every person on our team has very clear goals for where they want to be at the end of these 12 weeks. I want them to have to reset their goals by week 8, because we are already there!!

After being in athletics my entire life, I blinked and became extremely overweight; 300 lbs. I started Farrell's as a student 6 years ago and haven't looked back. Life at Level 10. I became involved in personal fitness because I love seeing people change their lifestyle to a healthy one and the reactions they have by reaching their fitness goals. Whether if it's for health reasons or just wanting to reach a new fitness level. My biggest success story is that I’ve helped over a thousand people go through the Farrell's program and the greatest feeling is seeing the many people become un-dependant on medications for high blood pressure and high cholesterol. My personal goals for my team are winning the contest would be great, but I would much rather see everyone on our team be successful for the long haul and learn how to live a healthy lifestyle that will stick with them forever. Of course we will also push them to reach the personal goals they set for themselves.
