Now that the weather has finally warmed up, it's a great time to get out on one of Wisconsin's great lakes. Do you have a favorite place to go? I grew up going to camp at Lake Geneva. I loved taking the cruise on the "Lady on the Lake" paddle boat. We've enjoyed visiting various friends at their lake homes on Lake Redstone, Kegonsa, Ripley and Wisconsin. They all have very special feelings about "their lake". Do you have a special lake? What's your favorite mode of transportation on the water? |

Why is there no coverage on the flooding of our Madison lakes(4)? We are at all time highs with lots of shoreline damage. Posted by: Tina Location: Windsor My guy pal & I like to take our pedal powered paddle boat out and get our exercise just about anywhere. Sad thing is, his guide dog is very determined to keep him away from the dark danger the water represents to her 2.5 foot stature and her ability to keep him safe. Sometimes we get a dog sitter, sometimes we take her, and a friend, and let them sit on the beach while we pedal around. One sad thing about his late life blindness is he used to love to waterski... now being out on the water makes him violently ill... without his sight as a referrence, and the boat rocking side to side, he gets so sick, but he troopers up and does it for me. One of the reasons I love him, and try not to take advantage of his giving spirit... too often. Posted by: Carol Location: Baraboo It used to be that being on a boat was far from my favorite thing to do, horseback riding was SOOOO much better. Four years ago we go a pontoon, now bring on about any lake. Husband and son can fish, I can read, knit and ask the guys why they missed all those fish on the "fish finder"? Posted by: local Location: dane col. Lake Holcombe, in Rusk County Posted by: Packer Fan Location: WI Back in the day, I learned how to water ski on Lake Stratton, not far from Waupaca. It was one many, many lakes up there. The lake was nice, small, one big turn on a boat. For purely nostalgic purposes, the lake remains #1. It will always be the place we went to "play" for a week before going back to college. Years later, I lived for two years in that area. After that, moved back closer to home, started graduate school and, in the process, met my wife of twenty years this July. Posted by: Carol Location: Green County I don't have any special one cuz i like just about any lake. It is so peaceful to sit by a lake and enjoy a picnic with family and friends!!!My favorite transportation on the water is with a boat. |
