Hey everybody!

Who likes to golf?! I know many of you do... Now, I am not a golfer so I'm not good at it, and you probably wouldn't want me on your team due to my lack of skill!  BUT I am a supporter of WAGS - and actually a relatively new member of the board of directors.  And that's part of why I'm writing to you!  (WAGS stands for The Wisconsin Academy for Graduate Service Dogs - a non-profit here in Madison.)

Next month is the WAGS annual golf scramble... basically, you golf at Bridges Golf Course in Madison and support this great organization at the same time!  How can you beat that?  AND - you can meet some service dogs in-training!  These dogs help people with all kinds of mobility impairments - the dogs turn on switches, open doors, retrieve items and lift the spirits of everyone they meet.  Really, they do!  

On Saturday, I was at the graduation ceremony for four teams of graduates.  (NBC15's John Stofflet, who's also a board member, was there as well.  You might've seen the story on the news on Saturday.)  I know the impact my dogs have on my life, and it's really inspiring to see the impact these highly trained service dogs have on the lives of clients of WAGS.  It's incredible, and they're all trained by WAGS volunteers!

If you're interested in golfing... here are the details for the annual scramble.

The cost includes lunch, cart and green fees... prizes, raffle drawings and gift bags.  A single golfer costs $99, or a foursome costs $390.  It's scheduled for Thursday, June 25, 2009.  Check-in is at 9 am.
