Hello, everyone.

Thanks so much for sharing your doggie stories! I love hearing them, truly, because I know - as a dog lover - I could spend countless hours telling people about my pal, which I sometimes do.  Thankfully, all of you gracious readers and viewers don't mind!

Today was Doggie Day at the Madison Mallards game - when the Duck Pond opens its doors to our canine companions. It was a lot of fun. I was there on behalf of WAGS - The Wisconsin Academy for Graduate Service Dogs.  Check it out at www.wags.net

Anyway... now to today's topic...

From time to time I have to get up really early, like 5 am.  I ALWAYS like it but can never seem to do it unless I have to... I usually get up around 6:30, or if I'm really hurting, close to 7 am.  Yikes! Late, I know.

I would, however, love to get up earlier if I could just adjust my own body clock!  I guess I'm too used to staying up later than I should.

Whenever I get up really early, I so appreciate the quiet and getting out in the fresh air with so few people out and about.  It's just great.  I realize 5 am is probably not all that early for some of you - a lot of people head off to work early - but I'd love to adjust my schedule, I just can't seem to make it happen.  Any advice, let me know.

Until next time...

Dana

Dana- I was up at 5:45 during the week to get ready to go to work. I do not get up early as a rule, but once you start doing it for awhile, you get used to it and you start going to bed earlier. It was tough the year my son was born because neither one of us was getting much sleep. I was also driving an hour each way to work. I remember holding him on weekends and just falling asleep. Good luck.

Wellll- my 1st sugg. would b to get home, love on the pooch, & go to bed, no TV, no net surfing. 2nd, perhaps a walk b4 bed too? not arobic/ cardio, but relaxing, calming. lastly... you could ask a friend to call every morning since they are up at that time, and that way there is no annoying snooze button, etc. I don't know many people who ever been trained to wake on a routine schedule, but I know many who can be asleep within 10 mins every night. seems to me the body wakes when it is done resting, & with all the mental energy you use during the day, it probably takes a lot of effort for your body to rise early. Good luck Dana! let us know if you find something that works!
