The Best Parts Are Too Short!
The weather around here can be tricky.
The temps can go from frigid to scorching,
You can experience a blizzard then it's a heat wave.
If you don't like it, wait a few minutes and it will change.

This description can apply to many places and every spot in the country has its ups and downs.  What is so tough for
many of us is that winter is so long and summer can be a little hot and sticky for what we are really comfortable with.

Wintry weather can run from November 1st to around April 15th.  Summer stuff cranks up by June 1st and runs into the first
week or two of September.  That just doesn't leave much room on the calendar, does it?

Personally, if I were to rank my favorite seasons in Wisconsin, my top choice is autumn.  The crisp air and the clear, blue sky.
My second choice is spring when everything goes green with warmer temps and gentle breezes.  Now we have a problem....autumn here lasts about two months and spring runs about six weeks....there's no time to waste.   What am I to do?

How we squeeze the things we love to do into so little time is truly amazing!  What are some of your favorites?  Don't be shy.  Golf?  Gardening?  Fishing?  Walking?  Sunbathing?  Playing with kids in the backyard?

They have threatened to take me off the blog page if people don't start responding to what I write.  Help the weatherman.  I take enough abuse when the weather isn't good.

May the wind be at your back and try to set aside time to have fun in the sun,
David

Will the Doppler Max ever be available to us online?

We swim a lot, my son and I play tennis and we go to a local park often. Golf, occasionally and just enjoy our backyard "park."

Hi David! I would have to agree with you about favorite seasons. Fall is the best in WI albeit far TOO short. I love the crisp air, the colors, the clear, blue sky. It is followed closely by Spring. I love to "dig in the dirt" and plant things, hear the birds sing, and take nice LONG walks on the Military Ridge trail. These two seasons make me glad I live where I do!

I like Spring and Fall. In the spring you can plant your garden and set out flowers in the flower bed or your pots. I like to walk in the evenings and relax on the patio with family and enjoy a cold beer.

I can sum up the best way to take advantage of the shortness of the spring in two words: bike riding. Lots and lots of bike riding. Since the weather has been so amazing the past few days I've only been off my bike once and that was only because I didn't feel like riding it across town to go to school! There's nothing cooler than watching the transformation of all the trees and other plants from barren and sad to virtual flower and foliage explosions!! So if you've got a bike and you have the time (and if the weather cooperates), I highly recommend riding around and taking in all the spring goodness!!
