Don't you love "just right" weather.  For me, it's partly cloudy and about 72 to 78 degrees for this time of year.  Anything over that seems hot to me and I even spent the first 25 years of my life in Texas!

During our summer months of June, July and August the descriptors for higher temps change and below is what I use to categorize certain parameters in any given forecast:

High of 56-64 degrees:  Cool
             65-74 degrees:  Mild
             75-84 degrees:  Warm
             85-94 degrees:  Hot
95-100 and up:  Very hot, sweltering, blistering, dangerous, boiling, unbearable, etc.

One interesting note:  We haven't hit 100 degrees officially in almost 15 years.

When the air temperature reaches 85 and dewpoints reach 65 or more, we have a very difficult time regulating our body temperatures.  (On July 7, 2008 we had a high of 85 and a dewpoint of 74.)  This reduces our chance to evaporate moisture off the skin which provides a cooling effect.  Serious problems can result if this process doesn't occur:  nausea, headaches, dizziness and even heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Have fun, but be very careful this summer.  Heat can be fatal.  Take frequent breaks and drink plenty of water.

In this country, heat kills more people each year than flooding, lightning and tornadoes combined.  Find air conditioning, use fans, take a cool shower or visit your favorite lake, pool or water park.  If all else fails, put wet towels on your neck and put your feet in a large bowl of chilly water.

We'll talk again soon, and please let me know your "just right" weather with a quick response!!!  Otherwise, I can't tell how many people have read what I have taken the time to write.

David

Wisconsinities complain about weather more than anywhere else! In the winter it's too cold. In the summer it's too hot. In the spring it's too rainy. In the fall it's too windy. Stop complaining and enjoy the 4 seasons for what they are!

I like the hot and humid stuff, as long as there is a breeze. The only time I like it cooler is at night when you sleep.

I agree with your temperature range of 72 to 78 degrees for this time of year, as long as the dewpoints stay around 55. Stay cool if you can.

Gee David: Sounds like we are kindred spirits! Actually I am fine with anything 55-78. After that it is just too darn hot! No wonder Spring and Fall are my favorite times of the year. I like cool nights and little to no humidity!

Its only HOT to me if there's no breeze. I can handle any temperature; the hotter the better! I hate hate hate winter so I soak up every minute of summer that I can.

My "just right" is in the sixties and sunny. I love to be outside in a sweatshirt and sunglasses! And, David, you just jinxed us with the statement "we haven't hit 100 degrees officially in almost 15 years". I bet we will have a week of 100 degrees now...:o)
