The 21^st annual Walk MS was a huge success this year, even with a difficult economy for non-profits and their events. More than a thousand people laced up their shoes and walked to help create a world free of multiple sclerosis.

 

 

A big shout out to Team 15 – we raised more than $2,200 and had 39 team members! I am so proud of everyone for their efforts! You all rock!

 

 

I had the pleasure of meeting some great people this year. Your stories always amaze and encourage me… and make me want to work that much harder to help find a cure for this terrible disease.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I also want to thank those from NBC 15 who came out to support the event. John and David were there, along with members of their families. And two of our producers, Hywania Thompson and Kevin Hunt, also walked. You guys are great!

 

 

But perhaps the most inspiring and emotional moment of the day came as I watched a woman named Judy Hermanson cross the finish line. She suffers from MS and had two ladies help her out of her wheelchair so she could WALK to the finish. I will never forget the look on her face and the tears in her eyes.  She told me later that her walking across the finish line signified that we will put an end to MS.  Amen!
