You hear a lot of people talking about things they cannot give up, even in a down economy.  It got me thinking about whether or not I have brand loyalty... if there's anything I MUST have.

I decided I'm not overly brand loyal, only when it comes to cleanliness, after all it is next to godliness.  I always buy Tide, probably because that's what my mother uses and I always have to buy Dove soap.  I've never tried another laundry detergent, but when it comes to soap, everything else I've tried doesn't lather as well and leaves me dry.

Other than that, bring on generic katsup, cereal and whatever else you can throw my way.  I've become a much more price conscious and frugal shopper.  I've realized over the years that I really can't taste the difference, so I figure, why pay an extra buck?  These days that needs to go into the gas tank.  Ugh.

How about you?

I would say I am brand loyal to Kraft products because my mom works for them. If I support Kraft I support my mom! :)

I must have Heinz ketchup, Jif peanut butter, French's mustard, and Dean's milk. Anything else, I'm fairly flexible on.

I use StayFree and StayFree only. Has excellent absorbency, and really does knock out obnoxious odors!

Michelle- I guess that I have become less brand loyal over the last few years. I am loyal to Panasonic and, because I know the owners, Sargento. Also, Maxell UD XL II cassette tapes used to be the only tapes I would buy(which I am not sure they make anymore) and I will only buy Fender guitars. I used to buy only Nikes, but they changed the design and that ended that.

I am very brand loyal with certain things--toothpaste (COLGATE), Skin Care Products (Dove) and laundry soap (Wisk he). There are only a few items that I am really picky about, and for the most part am willing to try store brands or the items available at Aldi. I love their spaghetti sauce (very much like Prego and half the price or less!. I also go there for staple items like pasta, baking ingredients, dairy items. It makes a BIG difference in the end total of my receipt and not a big difference in taste. Other items I try to buy if I have a coupon, or better yet it is on sale and the store AND I have a coupon. In this economy, I need to save where I can.
