I left to go on vacation almost two weeks ago now and I was hoping the Brett Favre saga would be over by the time I got back, apparently that was too much to ask for. I'm now back in Madison, and regardless of the reports of him being traded soon there really has been no progress made. Am I the only one getting sick of the Brett Favre fiasco? I mean the guy is a legend, I think he's a great player to watch, I've got nothing but respect for the man, and I would love nothing more than to see him stay in Green Bay but enough is enough. Make the trade or let the guy start. This could go down as the worst move in Packer history because while the green and gold say they have faith in Aaron Rodgers it won't long for that faith to diminish given what they're doing with Favre. If Rodgers opens the season with a bad game he'll get booed not out of the stadium, but basically out of the country by Green Bay fans. Also, this could completely ruin Ted Thompson's run in Green Bay as he'll be the one held solely responsible for letting go of a first ballot hall of famer. What's funny is even if Favre is traded this whole mess won't end because it'll just cause problems for whatever team he goes to. You think Jeff Garcia is going to be ok with Tampa Bay if they trade for Favre? Nope. He'll just cause a hissy fit and say he wants to be traded. Where Favre goes the drama will follow. However, #4 would also make the Bucs a heck of a lot better instantly and take them right back to the post-season. While it would be heartbreaking to see favre in another uni, when he does get traded I hope it's to someone who will play the Pack this season. It would make for some more interesting drama. |

I agree with Don from Arlington. NASCAR is NOT a sport. In fact my take is that anything you can do while holding a beer is not a sport...so golf and baseball aren't real sports in my opinion either. Look at the fat and out of shape baseball players...they can barely chug around the bases IF they are lucky enough to get a run. Half the golfers don't even walk on the course...they ride carts and the only physical activity they get is when they swing the club. Wow...not very athletic. Posted by: Jerry Location: Madison Unlike most, I think this could be the biggest news in Wisconsin sports for 2008. Green Bay will have to pick itself up from an "image mess" for many years. Football is a "sport" where I feel you should be able to play, if you can and if you want to. I feel this includes changing one's mind. Players (and coaches) come back from retirement all the time. The news is going to cover this, all season, so the rest of us (see below) better get used to it. Good Blog Nick!!! Posted by: Don Location: Arlington I was sick of Fvre four years ago. By the way nascar is NOT a sport!! Posted by: Anonymous Location: Madison Brett retired - he cried like a baby on national tv that he can't put 100% into it anymore. Now he wants to come back - yes, he was good - but you made up your mind. Get on with other stuff. Posted by: Carol Location: Baraboo When Brett retired, I admired him. After the past month, I no longer feel that way. He retired, he should stay retired. I am TIRED of hearing about Brett. NASCAR is far more interesting than what Brett Farve is doing day after day! Posted by: Jay Location: Watertown Brett should have stayed retired. The team is more about the whole team not just the QB. He acted like a spoiled kid, didn't get his way so he went home and pouted. If he had second thoughts now was not the time to act on them. He needs to move on and get a lfe. As a Jet, he will find out what the other world thinks of him. He blew his good guy image. Self centered and arrogant. Good ridance. The Pack is too good for players like that. Posted by: Deb Location: Waupun ENOUGH OF BRETT!!!! PUT THE NATIONAL NEWS BACK ON Posted by: JOhn Location: Deere Once again, your blog is a day late and a dollar short...the brewers got CC and the Favre saga is over. Next topic!! Posted by: Valerine Location: Briggsville, WI After a life time of being an avid Green Bay Packer's fan, and after what they've done to Brett Favre, I pray the Pack does not win a single game all this season. With that maybe they can kick Thompson and McCarthy to the curb like they so richly deserve. After that, we can get back to building a winning team again. I feel sorry for the men on the field if there are no wins, but everyone should suffer this loss thanks to the boys in the Ivory Tower. |
