Other than the Promotions Manager at NBC15, Sara is a mother to her two year old son, Jacob. Madison has been her home for over 7 years, and is the place where she loves spending time with her family and friends. In her freetime, Sara enjoys hanging out with friends and family, going for walks, cross-stitching, knitting, watching movies and TV, (especially The Office,) and of course a good laugh! She is also a career speaker for the Madison School District and a board member of the Arthritis Foundation.
Her love of TV news started at a young age when she would watch Barbara Walters on 20/20 and other nightly newscasts. While working at an Amoco Gas Station during high school and college...she would write and voice-over commercials over the loud speaker from time to time... Sara graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a B.A. in Electronic Media and a minor in Marketing.
Sara's career started over 10 years ago at KWWL in Waterloo, IA, where she worked as both a newsroom editor and commercial producer. Sara has been a family member of NBC15 since April 2002, where she started out as a Promotions Producer. She was promoted to Senior Promotions Producer in July of 2005, and then Promotions Manager in August 2006. You may have even seen her in a few commercials here at NBC15!
