Here is the Incident Report from Madison Police Department:

On 5/2/08 at approximately 3:24 a.m. a neighbor (600 block of Glenway Street) awoke to voices during the rainy night.

The neighbor grew suspicious when two males were walking quickly around a car parked nearby. The witness then saw the neighbors' car slowly drive away from the house, with the headlights off.

An officer was dispatched to take a stolen auto/suspicious activity report and learned indeed the car was stolen.

A bicycle was later found nearby and it is believed this could have been swapped for the car. The bicycle remains in police evidence as this is an ongoing investigation.

This city is full of illegal aliens who commit crimes that can't be solved because there are no records to look up and they disappear over the state line to hide.

Maybe the police should leave the bike where they found it and set up a stake out. With the price of gas, the thieves will be back for the bike!!
