On October 16, 2009 at approximately 12:20 am, Kraig M. Morris, 44, of Sun Prairie was arrested for OWI 3rd offense.

A DeForest Police Officer was conducting a traffic stop on Highway 19 when the officer observed a vehicle traveling east on Highway 19 without a front passenger side tire. The officer returned to his vehicle and stopped the car and determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The Driver, Morris, was asked to perform Standard Field Sobriety Tests and was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated-3rd Offense.

Preliminary alcohol tests indicate that Morris had a breath alcohol of .181% and Morris has two prior convictions for OWI. Morris was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Sun Prairie for blood drawn with results pending. Morris was cited for OWI 3rd and operating with suspended registration.

Evidence at the scene indicates that Morris drove a lengthy amount of time on his front passenger side rim and the vehicle was towed from the scene due to the damage.

Who says alcohol makes you do stupid things? I mean, if I had a flat tire I wouldn't change it either. I'd just keep driving around in circles until I drove past a cop too. MORON! You're lucky you didn't kill anyone.

What's it going to take?...."QUIT ELECTING BUFFOONS"...Go ahead make it a felony...give them prison time! The recent "two cigarette tax inreases" was meant/supposed too educate these people?.."Mom Fed Up"...Take your family and run fast....don't look back if you can!...When you "pull the lever" for the likes of Tammy B, Kathleen F or Jim D this is what you get!...Maybe if some these people have jobs and some self respect they simply would not do these things. But then again Wisconsin has lead the nation in being "LIBERAL"...Sorry to say "you reap what you sow"!.....When you welcome "welfare" you have too take the fleas that come with the dog! Anyone wants to challenge this?...look at the crime rate....Be ready to strap in...Doyles "CHOO CHOO TRAIN" will bring the best form of transportation, and bring it to "MAIN STREET WISCONSIN"!

Give him a fine and send him on his way. I do not think stiffer penalties will help this man. However, an alcohol tax would definitely stop him in his tracks! He would think twice about driving drunk if he had to pay a little more for his booze. (Sense the sarcasm)
