On Monday, October 12th, a 17-year old Madison girl reported strangers tried to get her to go into their van. She was walking near the Vilas Park beach, between 3:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., when someone called out to her. She looked and saw two men standing near a white van. One asked her if she wanted a ride. She told him, "no," and he said, "Are you sure?" The teen continued to walk the two men got in the van, driving up very close to her as she approached the stone bridge near the west end of the park. She ran until she came into contact with other people in the park.

On October 11th, an 18-year old Fitchburg woman reported being grabbed by a stranger around 4:20 p.m. as she was walking in the 2200 block of Rosenberry Road. The victim said the man came up behind her, and grabbed her around the waste. She says he kept calling her "baby", and wanted to know if she wanted to "get with him." She was able to break from his grasp and run to safety.

Suspect: Male, black, 5'6", average build wearing black jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt with hood up.
