Press release from the Fitchburg Police Department:

On 11/8/09 at approximately 6:41 PM, officers from the Fitchburg Police Department responded to Syene Depot at 2770 Syene Rd. for a Robbery. A male subject came into the store and demanded money from the clerk. No weapon was displayed. The suspect fled the scene in an early to mid nineties dark Chevy car with an undisclosed amount of money. No injuries were reported. No one is in custody at this time.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic or light skinned black male, about 5’6” to 5’8” with a heavy build. He was wearing black coat.

If someone is going to try to take money from me, they better show me right up front they have the means to take it by force. I'm not giving anything of mine unless I know I'm outgunned; figuratively and realistically speaking.

If they don't show or mention a weapon, it isn't armed robbery.

I'm inclined to think that if the crook had a weapon they would show it right away.
