Incident Report from the Madison Police Department:

On Monday, just past noon, Madison Police were called to the corner of Hickory Street and W. Olin Avenue after a pickup truck rolled - at approximately 10 miles per hour, through a stop sign. A witness could not see anyone in the driver's seat as the truck hit a car, and then a house. The witness ran to the car and found there was an unconscious man lying down inside. He was blue in the face and not breathing. Another passerby performed CCR and the man began to breath again. At the same time, a 26-year old woman was found across the street having what appeared to be a seizure. She was taken to a local hospital, and later said she had been in the pickup truck, but got out because she was feeling sick. Officers believe both individuals had just overdosed on heroin. The driver was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated.

Arrested: Jason N. Lancaster, age 37, Portage WI
Mr. Lancaster was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated, and for a Parole Hold.

He obviously needs help! But what everyone may not know is that addiction runs in his family and he just lost his brother in October from an overdose, still know excuse, but he needs major help! It will take a lot but he needs to turn his life around soon or next time he will die!

Hey K! Let me just say that this person could have easily KILLED someone YOU know! Most people are tired of dodging drunks and dug addicts while they drive. Making excuses for these people only perpetuates their behavior. Knock it off!

To those of you who are bashing this person, let me just say that this could easily be someone you love. Drug addictions comes in all shapes and sizes and does not discriminate. It crosses all socio-economic levels and it could easily be your neighbor, friend, or relative and you would have no clue that this was happening. Heroin is everywhere these days and it is the drug of choice for many because it is cheap and easy to get. I knew a young man from a "good" family who "experimented" one time and was immediately addicted, and he died in January at the age of 20. It is easy to make blanket statements about addicts and to blame them and say "throw away the key," but when is is someone you know and love, you realize that they need help. So before you make such statements, look at your friends, neighbors and relatives and see if you would say the same things if you found out they were addicted. Would you help them if you could?
