FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On February 22, 2010 officers from the City of Milton Police Department arrested a 28 year old male from Illinois as the result of a 10 month online investigation.

Arrested on charges of Use of a Computer to Facilitate a Sex Crime and Child Enticement, both felonies, was Kevin M. Perez, 28, of Tinley Park, IL.

The charges stem from an ongoing cyber-chat relationship that Mr. Perez was having with what he thought was a 15 year old female from Milton. However, the conversations he was having since April of 2009 were actually with an officer from the City of Milton Police Department. Perez had made arrangements to meet the girl at Burger King in Milton on February 22, 2010 believing that the meeting would lead to sexual relations at a nearby hotel.

Mr. Perez was taken into custody at approximately 7:00pm after he arrived at Burger King to meet the “girl”.

The investigation is in conjunction with the Milton Police Department’s participation in the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. This is the fourth arrest the agency has made for this type of crime since beginning to work with the task force in 2009.
