Actress Tyne Daly Stumps in Wis. for President

JANESVILLE, Wis. (AP) -- An actress known for her roles on the television shows "Cagney and Lacey" and "Judging Amy" stumped for President Barack Obama in Wisconsin.

The Janesville Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/NtCG4R ) Tyne Daly stopped in Whitewater, Janesville and Beloit on Saturday.

She urged about 100 Democratic supporters in downtown Janesville to work harder for Obama, saying the president brought the country back from the brink of disaster, and he needs more time to continue his work.

Daly was on the 1980s TV series "Cagney and Lacey" and the 1999-2005 series "Judging Amy."

@Duh - I did look it up in an online dictionary before I wrote my comment, I found no mention of the word meaning campaign. I can guarantee you, I am far from the only one who does not know that stump means to campaign.

Thought it was pretty easy to understand. To stump means to campaign. Look it up.
