ALLOUEZ, Wis. (AP) -- Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's wife encouraged people to donate to the Red Cross at a Green Bay area campaign office.

Ann Romney told a packed room of volunteers and other supporters that this is a time for Americans to unite for victims of Hurricane Sandy.

She told them people are dropping off blankets, water and other supplies to campaign centers across the country.

She spent most of the 5-minute speech talking about how her husband Mitt Romney befriended a Massachusetts teen who ended up dying of leukemia. She described her husband as a good person who cares about people.

She also urged people to pray for the storm victims.

Wisconsin first lady Tonette Walker introduced her after urging the crowd to give blood.
