Baldwin Looks To Stop Dems' Wisconsin Losing Streak

FRIENDSHIP, Wis. (AP) -- Some Democrats are concerned that Wisconsin Rep. Tammy Baldwin could be too liberal to win the more conservative parts of Wisconsin she'll need to get elected to the Senate in November.

Democrats are counting on Baldwin to snap a series of losses the party has suffered in Wisconsin starting in 2010. A win could also help Democrats keep the majority in the Senate.

Baldwin, the first openly gay candidate elected to Congress, is popular in liberal Madison, but she's far less known in the rest of the state.

But she isn't running toward the middle in an attempt to sway independent voters. Instead, she casts her campaign as a fight for the working class while also speaking out about saving Medicare, reforming Wall Street and embracing Obama's health care reform.

They have a habit of substituting the words "Middle Class" for "Union". Ex: "Walker is causing the middle class worker to suffer." The irony is that the unions do it to themselves by protecting the bad workers, ensuring mediocre raises for everyone.
