MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The website of Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke downplays her connections to the city of Madison and doesn't even mention that she serves on the Madison school board.
A spokesman for Burke's campaign tells the Wisconsin State Journal in a story published Wednesday that the site will be updated to include her school board service. She was elected to the board in April 2012.
Burke is the only announced Democratic candidate to challenge Republican Gov. Scott Walker next year.
Burke updated her campaign website on Tuesday with a six-paragraph biography and a page with position statements in six categories. The site emphasizes her role as a former executive with Trek Bicycle Corp.
Republicans have tried to cast Burke as an out-of-touch Madison liberal multimillionaire.
