MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Republican Senate candidate Tommy Thompson has released his first ad of the campaign, as has the Democratic group working to get Tammy Baldwin elected.
The ads released Wednesday come on the heels of an attack ad Baldwin released Monday taking on Thompson's role making it illegal for Medicare to negotiate lower prescription drug prices.
The Thompson ad tries to remind viewers of his 14 years serving as governor with Thompson speaking directly to the screen saying, "We've accomplished a lot together." He then says Washington needs to be reformed because current policies are killing jobs and increasing debt.
The new spot from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee attacks Thompson for moving to Washington over a decade ago, where he worked as an attorney for a powerful lobbying firm.
