Walker Eying Income, Property Tax Cuts

Posted Wednesday, November 28, 2012 --- 1:17 p.m.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker says he's still trying to determine whether an income tax cut or a property tax cut, or some combination of the two, is the best way to return money to taxpayers.

Walker made the comments Wednesday during a speech before Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce, the statewide chamber of commerce.

Walker has been saying that he's mulling some sort of tax cut in his next budget to be released in February. Walker told WMC members that the only question he has is where is the best place to cut taxes to help the middle class.

Walker is touring the state seeking feedback and he also asked WMC members to let him know their thoughts.

I always find it funny how the haters are so good at forgetting past administrations extremely poor financial responsibilty and turn posistives into negetives. By the way, federal workers have taken paycuts (using the same math you are) for the last four years. Get over it. We work for the taxpayers who are also getting beat up (they national avg for wages dropped by more than 4,000 annulay).

So cutting state worker's pay and lowering taxes is fair? Many employees took a $6,000 pay cut, some less, some more.

What Walker has done given the national economy is amazing. Whether he's eliminated the deficit entirely is up for debate, but under the previous leadership the debt would have continued to exponentiate. Once again, the people who continue to complain are the ones' whose compensation is based on the states revenue collection.

Comment PROPERTY TAX RELIEF IS BEST BECAUSE FOR MANY THAT HAVE NOT RECEIVED INCOME ADJUSTMENTS AND ESPECIALLY THOSE ON FIXED INCOME PLUS BUSINESS ARE PAYING WAY TO MUCH ON PROPERTY THAT HAS APPRECIATED THRU ASSESSED VAULUES OVER YEARS AND INCOME HAS NOT KEPT UP TO PAR.

He said he would cut property taxes. He didn't tell you he is raising fees. Anyone foolish enough to think they saved any money with this guy is foolish themselves.
