Walker, Ryan Target Obama's 'Unpatriotic' Comment

Posted Tuesday, July 3, 2012 --- 3:03 p.m.

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker and U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan plan to commemorate the fourth anniversary of then-candidate Barack Obama saying it was "irresponsible" and "unpatriotic" to add $4 trillion to the national debt.

The Republican National Committee said Tuesday that Obama himself has added $5 trillion to the debt.

At a campaign event in North Dakota in 2008, Obama said President George W. Bush raised the national debt from $5 trillion to $9 trillion. Obama said, "That's irresponsible. It's unpatriotic."

Democratic state Sen. Chris Larson counters that Obama's plans would cut the deficit by $4 trillion, while Republican Mitt Romney's plans would only benefit the wealthy.

The U.S. Treasury Department says the national debt was $10.6 trillion on the day Obama took office. As of Monday it was $15.9 trillion.

I don't think its entirely the presidents fault about the deficit, its congress's fault for only caring about themselves and their pockets. The fault is all on their shoulders. Congress is supposed to be a public service for the people, not a business venture, which is how many of the politicians are using it today.

I am so tired of politicians not doing the right thing, simply doing what their party demands of them so they can get elected and get a pay check and awesome benefits. Enough. Do what your mother taught you to do, make the tough choices that don't benefit you, but makes your neighbor's life better. What the hell is wrong with the mothers of these politician?

Simple answer to the problem the republicans need to stop being bought by all the big companies and people like the Koch brothers and tell them no and run this country like it should now it's who ever has the most money to buy off the government wins and right now it looks like the republicans are on a major spending spree.
