MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin's five-year-old version of C-SPAN, the WisconsinEye network, has renewed its contract with the Legislature to continue providing live, gavel-to-gavel coverage.

The new contract reached with both the Senate and Assembly begins in January and will last for six years. WisconsinEye announced the deal late Monday.

WisconsinEye offers gavel-to-gavel coverage of the Legislature and a variety of other programming focused on civic, public policy and community affairs. It is available on cable television throughout the state, including Charter Communications and Time Warner Cable.

Network president Jon Henkes says everyone at WisconsinEye is grateful for the opportunity to continue serving citizens of the state.

WisconsinEye is a private, not for profit network that is funded privately and operates independently of state government with no taxpayer funding.
