Pulao-Basmati Rice cooked with whole spices and Fresh Dill


2 cups uncooked Basmati rice
1 tablespoon cooking oil
2 cloves
1 large cardamom
1 small cardamom
1 4 inch cinnamon stick
¼ teaspoon turmeric
½ cup fresh dill, chopped


Wash rice thoroughly and leave to soak for 15 minutes. Heat oil in a pan, add the cloves, cardamoms, and cinnamon stick. Let it sizzle for a minute. Add rice, salt and turmeric. Add 3 cups of water and chopped dill. Let it come to a boil and then reduce heat and leave to simmer for 15-20 minutes. Serve with curries.
