The Town of Beloit Fire Department was dispatched to Rock Disposal at 2301 W. B R Townline Rd, for a vehicle fire. It happened just before midnight.

When the first crew arrived they found two garbage trucks engulfed in fire and another two partially involved with fire impeding several other vehicles. Fire personnel were able to keep the fire from spreading to the other vehicles, although heat caused damage to some of them.

The four vehicles are considered a total loss and several others will need to be repaired. Damage estimates are $1 million.

Units were on scene for approximately one and one half hours. No firefighters or civilians were injured.
