Incident Report from the Madison Police Department:
Two intoxicated men were responsible for three collisions while driving the same car Monday afternoon. A 29-year old Sun Prairie woman was stopped in traffic at the intersection of Pflaum and Stoughton Roads when her white BMW was rear-ended. She got out of her SUV, looked back, and saw the driver and the passenger of the car that hit her change positions. The men agreed to follow her into a nearby parking lot to exchange information.
This did not go well, as the new driver of the green Saturn rear-ended the BMW a second time. The driver told the suspects she was calling police. She then watched as the new driver of the Saturn hit the gas, drove over a curb, and sped off northbound on a frontage road. He collided head-on into a car driven by a 46-year old Fitchburg man, causing extensive damage. Following the third collision, the Saturn rolled over.
When officers arrived it was smoking, and upside down. The current driver of the car used many expletives when talking with officers. He and his passenger (the former driver) were taken to a local hospital, as was the Fitchburg driver. He suffered a broken wrist and possible spinal damage. The suspects were both arrested on a host of tentative charges, which are listed below.
Suspects:
Antonio Estrada-Manjarrez, age 18, Madison
Suspect was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated (3rd Offense) - Causing Injury, Hit & Run, Deviating from Traffic Lane, Reckless Driving, Operating After Revocation, and Failure to have Insurance.
Carlos Manjarrez-De La Paz, age 19, Madison
Suspect was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence - 2nd Offense, Hit & Run, Inattentive Driving, Operating without a Valid Driver's License, and Failure to have Insurance.

I think these young men are in a lot more trouble then we know. I was only seconds from being their next victim. Everyone involved in the N Stoughton Rd head on roll over are very lucky to be alive! I am surprised anyone was able to get themself out of their cars as they all did after being hit so hard! I hope the gentleman who was in the wrong place at the wrong time recovers well.
b, maybe the press release didn't list EVERYTHING they were charged with? Maybe all the charging decisions haven't been made yet? Maybe the cops KNOW that the DA will throw out underage drinking, since there are so many other charges, so they don't bother with it? I'm sure the cops are glad they have you to critique their performance.
Let it fly, Dan. Probably the same thing many are already thinking. "skip", agreed.
