The Sauk County Sheriff's Department is in the process of investigating a car crash that occurred shortly before 2am Sunday morning.

The incident occurred on US Highway 12 at Shady Lane Road in the Town of Delton. According to witnesses, a vehicle operated by Ralph Acevedo, age 36 or Baraboo, was traveling south bound in the north bound traffic lane of Hwy 12 when he struck the vehicle of Dusty J. Jackson, age 19 of Lyndon Station. Jackson was traveling north bound at the time of the crash.

Both Acevedo and Jackson were taken to the UW Hospital by MedFlight for their injuries. Acevedo died at the hospital as a result of his injuries.

The incident still remains under investigation.
