Madison police are investigating a suspicious man on the city's south west side.

A woman told police a man came to her door on Stonecreek Dr. around 8:00 last Thursday night claiming to work for Charter Cable.

The man told her for $5 more a month, she could get 5 more channels.

When she said she wasn't interested, she says he made rude comments and left.

Charter says they are not offering that deal and wouldn't be working around that time.

They also say their employees would be wearing a uniform, which this man was not.

Last Thursday night about 7:30 or 8:00, 8 Nov 07, man claiming to be from Charter cable asking questions about Charter cable and offering telephone bundle for $8 a month. He said his name was Mike. Kinda creepy looking. It seem kinda late he was going door to door in a building you need to be buzzed in.
