Summit to Create Better WI Jobs

(Madison) The Governor wants to create more and better paying jobs in Wisconsin.

Doyle says one way to do that is to make a significant investment in workforce training.

“It's clear that the states that are going to succeed in the coming decades are going to be the ones that have a highly trained well-educated workforce, and that's really got to be the focus of our efforts now,” says Doyle.

The Governor's Conference on Economic Development was held Thursday at Monona Terrace. The theme is “From Wall Street to Main Street: Finding Local Solutions in a Global Economy.”

The purpose of the conference is to provide the opportunity to share strategies for maintaining a healthy economy in Wisconsin.

Doyle says it is important to step up the commitment to education. He says he wants young people in Wisconsin to get the education they need to be leaders in the years to come.
