You've probably heard the familiar song, the 12 Days of Christmas. But here in Madison some are singing a different tune. The 12 Days of Wishmas is a 12 day celebration of special events and shopping held at the Kim and Jason store near downtown Madison. The purpose behind the event is to allow adults to escape adulthood and embrace a more child-like life especially around the holidays.

"And as we get older we get this disease called adultitis," says Kim and Jason and 12 Days of Wishmas creator, Jason Kotecki. "I think that a lot of us are infected with it and I think our message is to help try to fight adultitis and help people stress less and have more fun by remembering the magic of being a kid."

What started as an online store has turned into a retail business. Saturday kicked off day 1 of 12 where adult customers and kids of all ages shopped and decorated Christmas cookies. The real Kim and Jason behind the store see the joy in living life through a child's eyes.

"Life doesn't have to be so serious," says the Kim behind Kim and Jason, Kim Kotecki. "You can actually you know smile and get back to that inner child-like spirit that all of us still have."
