It's been almost one–year since Wisconsin's Attorney General was arrested for drunken driving. Thursday night, Peg Lautenschlager spoke out about the incident at a gathering in Algoma designed to show offenders the havoc that driving drunk can cause.
“I think sometimes having someone who was also cited with drunk driving as part of the panel brings to light the consequences of making a bad choice,” says Lautenschlager.
While Lautenschlager says she spoke on the panel to raise awareness of drunken driving, her first–hand experience with it is already becoming an issue in her upcoming re–election campaign.
Last week, an opponent – Waukesha County DA Paul Bucher – raised questions about how she handled the situation.
