(Juneau Co.) There was another courtroom appearance Tuesday for one of the men charged in a three-county crime spree that left two people dead, and one man left for dead after an alleged robbery and kidnapping.
Maurice Mason, 37, pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity in Juneau County Tuesday morning.
He is charged there with robbery, kidnapping, and first degree reckless injury for the kidnapping of David Kline, of Mauston. Kline lost his hands after Mason allegedly tied him up for six days.
Mason is also charged with murder in Dane County for the shooting death of 22–year-old Jennifer Hitchcock. And he's charged with murder in Sauk County for the death of John Romberg of Baraboo.
