(Madison) Gov. Doyle continues to gather support after releasing his budget. This time, he went to a classroom where the students aren't even old enough to vote.
Riding on the tails of his budget address, Doyle is rallying support at Lincoln Elementary School. The students in this classroom are part of SAGE, a state funded program to reduce classroom size.
The governor says not investing in education is not a reasonable option.
"We are going to spend $4.4 billion on transportation. Given that we are going to do that, it doesn't seem to me to be too difficult a choice to say well let's take $250 million and put it into schools where we can provide great education for our kids."
Doyle is also proposing $3 million to help school districts set up four-year kindergartens.
