A dreary Sunday afternoon, didn't stop thousands of people from enlightening themselves with a little culture.
More than 4,500 people were on hand for the 24th annual International Festival at Madison's Overture Center Sunday.
The free, day–long event featured music, dance, food, and crafts from around the world.
Organizers say there are many different cultures to explore and enjoy right here in our own community. “We don't realize that they celebrate things differently, they eat different foods that we do, they speak different languages, and yet we can all really rejoice and have a good time together,” says organizer Mary Lou Krase.
More than 40 different cultures were represented at Sunday's festival.
