(Madison) - Rayovac doesn't just sell batteries anymore, and that's why the company plans to take on a new name.
Rayovac announced Tuesday morning it is changing its corporate name to Spectrum.
The company says the name reflects the wide range of products it now provides consumers from lawn care to pet care to grooming products.
Rayovac most recently purchased United Industries, acquiring lawn, garden and insect control products.
The January purchase pushed Rayovac's sales up to $2.4 billion. That's more than a $1 billion increase.
Rayovac started as a battery company almost 100 years ago.
