A bill requiring Wisconsin voters to show identification before casting their ballots is closer to becoming a reality.
The joint finance committee approved the bill that requires voters to present a state or military I.D. The governor has already vetoed a similar proposal lawmakers passed two years ago and has indicated he would do so again, should the legislation reach his desk.
Currently, registered voters only have to give their name and address before voting.
