The discussion of redeveloping Fitchburg's Ridgewood Apartments continued Wednesday night.
The Fitchburg planning committee discussed plans to fix up the plagued apartment community.
Developer Gary Gorman presented past projects he has done and what he thinks could be accomplished at Ridgewood.
Residents say they want the property to remain affordable. But Gorman says they're just in the beginning stages, and aren't ready to make any decisions yet.
“(We are) trying to create a cooperative relationship with the city of Fitchburg, where both our company and the city brings all of our tools to the table to work together in a cooperative fashion to try to create a plan that makes sense for everybody, for Ridgewood,” says Gorman.
“I'm all for rehabilitating, but I also don't want to see where we get to the point where this becomes a playground for the rich,” says 26 year Ridgewood resident Jodi Johnston.
The committee will make a final vote on reconstruction plans on March eighth.
