Wisconsin Transmission Upgrades Needed

The power situation in Wisconsin is a vulnerable one according to a major energy supplier for our state.

95–million dollars is currently being spent to fix power problems in Dane County alone. Transmission upgrades are needed as our area grows at a rapid rate.

Power companies are doing what they can to address the immediate concerns in order to avoid outages like the one Adams County saw last night.

“The transformer that failed was apart of a much older piece of equipment. It was something we had scheduled to be replaced early in 2005, so that is something that we will have to expedite at this point," says Anne Marie Newman of American Transmission Company.
