Some community members literally got a taste of Black History Month Sunday.
The Boys and Girls Club hosted its annual Black History Month Celebration in Madison.
Guests were treated to a southern–style dinner, poetry readings, and a dance performance.
The event's emcee says the celebration represents a good way to mix black history with the black history–makers of today. “We try to celebrate not only the history of the past but some of our current community members who are making history even today,” says Isadore Knox.
Sunday's event marks the 5th annual Boys and Girls Club Black History Month celebration.
