Banning Moving Advertisements

A Madison alderperson is talking about banning all moving advertisements.
A proposal spearheaded by Alderman Steve Holtzman would ban trucks with large billboards like those owned by T.Q. Diamonds.
The proposal is designed to combat the traffic congestion created when trucks drive around for the purpose of advertising.
Holtzman says it would not affect ads on vehicles used for regular business. However, Tim Quigley says he uses this truck for deliveries and pick–up trucks and targeting his trucks would lead to more bans.
Alderman Holtzman says the proposal is currently in committee and he says it has some support on the common council.
