Air travel to Washington D.C. just got a bit easier for Madison's frequent fliers.
Northwest Airlines announced Wednesday that it will begin non-stop flights to Reagan National from Dane County Regional Airport. The non-stop service to Washington D.C. takes off on June 9. Passengers can begin booking reservations this weekend.
The County's airport director, Brad Livingston, says almost 50,000 passengers a year travel to D.C.
Passengers to Washington D.C. usually stop in Detroit.
Anyone already with tickets for a connecting flight to the Washington D.C. can change their plans free of charge, provided the ticket is scheduled for a date after the non-stop service begins. Ticket holders also need to request a new, non-stop ticket by the end of this month.
