State Tourism Singing a Different Tune

Wisconsin's Department of Tourism is singing a new tune as it begins its new advertising campaign.

More than 1,000 representatives from the Dairy State's travel and hospitality industry gathered at Madison's Monona Terrace Monday for the 2005 Governor's Conference on Tourism.

The event included the unveiling of a new component to the state's Department of Tourism advertising campaign. It involves the musical accompaniment to the department's new slogan “Wisconsin-Life's So Good,” which has been re–written following copyright infringement concerns.

"Our original contention that we were okay with that music continues to be the case, but we did change it," says Tourism Secretary Jim Holperin. "Overall, we're very glad we did. We really like the new campaign and I think the people of Wisconsin will, too."

Holperin says the Milwaukee based composer voluntarily recomposed the music free of charge.
