We could be nearing the end of the line in the marriage between Lands' End and Sears. A report that Sears may sell the Dodgeville based business.
An online report by Women's Wear Daily cites anonymous sources that say Sears is seeking a buyer for Lands' End. The asking price is said to be about $1.2 billion. That's about $700 million less than Sears paid for the company in 2002.
Lands' End sales have fallen short of expectations, and Lands' End isn't seen as a good fit once K–mart completes its purchase of Sears.
A Lands' End spokeswoman tells NBC 15 the report is total speculation.
She says it's company policy not to comment on market rumors. A spokesman for Sears also refused comment.
