Demonstrators at the Capitol today joined hundreds of people from around the state to lobby against a ban on gay marriages.
Organizers say over 350 people signed up to tell their legislators that an amendment to ban civil unions and marriage for gay marriages goes too far.
"Today that is what we are asking our lawmakers in Wisconsin to do," says Christopher Ott of Action Wisconsin. " Say no to the Constitutional ban on civil unions and marriage because it goes too far and will hurt real families."
Demonstrators at the capitol were from all parts of the state.
Organizers say people from Wisconsin's 33 Senate districts and most of the assembly districts were represented.
Over 30 organizations sponsored the statewide Lobby Day.
