A big birthday is on the way for Madison, and the city wants some advice on how to celebrate.
Some ideas were tossed around Thursday night in a public meeting. Madison will celebrate its 150th anniversary next year, but already a commission is hard at work deciding how the party plans will come together.
"In that 150 years we have done a lot. We've grown tremendously from a small village which we were to this city we became in 1956, and quite a large city now with bright prospects for the future," says Dick Wagner, Chairman "Madison 150."
The committee is looking for ideas for a year long celebration that will showcase the city's growth. They hope to have some plans in the works by mid year.
