Funeral services will be held Thursday morning for the first victim of last weekend's church shooting in Brookfield.

Family and friends gathered Wednesday for 58-year-old Richard Reeves' visitation in South Milwaukee.

Funerals for other victims are scheduled Thursday night, Friday, and Saturday.

Meanwhile, the mystery surrounding the shooting is intensifying.

For now, police have ruled out events during a service in late February as a possible motive for why Terry Ratzmann fatally shot seven fellow church members before killing himself.

Investigators had focused on a service at the Living Church of God that Ratzmann walked out of before he was scheduled to give the closing prayer.

Brookfield Police say it was not uncommon for him to sometimes leave services, and people who were at the service in question say Ratzmann was not acting differently.
