Late Winter Storm Dumps Snow on Parts of NW Wisconsin

A late winter storm dumps more than a foot of snow in parts of northwest Wisconsin.

In Eau Claire, snow emergency crews were out late Friday night and early Saturday morning clearing the roads. Several plows even reported getting stuck in the deep snow. Over 13 inches of snow fell on the city. City officials expect it to take four days to clean-up all the snowfall.

But the hardest hit areas were in Minnesota. As much as 16 inches of snow buried areas of the state. The weather prompted more than 250 flights going through the Twin Cities to be cancelled by Saturday afternoon. The storm also forced dozens of schools to close on Friday.
Most of the Madison area saw between 3-5 inches of accumulation.
