Gas Prices Continue to Climb

Video will be available shortly.

The price of Gas has reached a record high. And experts say the cost isn't done climbing just yet.

The American Automobile Association says the statewide average for a gallon of gas is up to $2.14. That's a penny higher than June of 2004.

AAA says this price surge was caused by the increasing cost of crude oil and the typical summer price hike will still happen.

Ironically, the high cost of gas makes it a waste of money to drive out of your way for cheaper gas. Even if you only drive 3 miles out of your way to save a couple cents a gallon, you'll waste more money in gas driving there than you'll save at the pump.

"Driving to find cheap gas is going to be more of an expense and a hassle than it's worth," says Michael Bie of the AAA

Bie says the best way to save money on gas is to give your vehicle a tune–up and inflate your tires to the proper level.
