Beloit Police say a seven-year-old girl and her six-month-old brother may have been alone in an apartment with their dead mother for as long as two days.
Police were called to the apartment on Prince Hall Drive Tuesday after a cable employee found the girl wandering around the parking lot, crying.
The girl took the man to her apartment, where they found a 24-year-old woman dead on the floor.
Authorities say an autopsy showed no signs of foul play, and it's believed the woman died due to a medical condition.
The seven-year-old told police that she had been changing and feeding her infant brother, and they had slept on the floor near their mother.
The children are now with a relative.
